It is a must

Aung San Suu Kyi, a pro-democracy leader in Burma has said "Until political prisoners have been released, and until we are all allowed to take part in the political process in the country, I do not think we can call it real change.  Burmese democracy activists and international made so many calls to release her from house arrest; she was finally released late last year.  She has spent 15 years under house arrest as a political prisoner.  Ever since her release, she has called for the release of all political prisoners. There are currently more than 1,500 political prisoners in Burma, including student leaders, monks and women.  Some are serving sentences of 100 years or more.  A few weeks ago hundred of prisoners with less than a year left on their sentences were released when the government granted “amnesty”.  The long-term serving criminals were released  but political prisoners are still left behind the bars.
Hunger strikes are still occurring in prisons throughout Burma. The health condition of political prisoners is in danger for the lack of access to healthcare. Although most of the political prisoners in Burma were sentenced by the previous administration and the administration has changed, the political prisoners remain in jail. How can we believe that the current government is trying to democratic reform? Burma’s political prisoner and their families are getting tired off their tricks and talks.  We all need to call for the release of all of the country’s political prisoners.  Free all Burma political prisoners unconditionally.
